Porou Miere Mānuka Honey Kura Visits

Attention all kura on the coast! We are pleased to offer FREE guided tours of our Porou Miere Extraction Facility, where students can gain a deeper understanding of the fascinating process behind Mānuka honey production. The tours are led by our former teacher, Ed Green, who is an ideal host to share the value and intricacies of this remarkable resource.
If you would like to book a tour for your school, please contact us via email at vbeach@natigrowth.co.nz to secure your spot.

February Farm Updates

What's been happening on our farms this February...
Sheep: We have just finished shearing the sheep on Pakihiroa farm! We have a great team of local shearers who have just shorn over 8000 of our sheep, resulting in roughly 23 tonnes of wool, which will be delivered to meet our supply contracts with Merino NZ. We have Romney ewes (lady sheep) which are known for the quality of strong wool they produce, and for the good strong lambs they rear.
Lambs: The lambs we produce are gradually moved to better land to graze because they grow faster on the lush new grasses and crops on the flats.
Bulls: Out on the hills, our bulls are getting their last bit of action for the year because soon the cows will all be in calf (hopefully!) and it will be time to give the boys a rest. It's very tiring having 40 girlfriends each! Mating season lasts for up to 8 weeks, and after this, the bulls go on holiday in the bull paddock for the rest of the year!
