We're Backing the Blue & White Again!

We’re proud to once again stand behind Ngati Porou East Coast Rugby this season, as our boys take to the field with mana, speed, and true East Coast pride.

Before their latest match, the team gathered at Waikanae Beach Café for their pre-game briefing — a perfect setting to fuel up, connect, and focus. In the lead-up, we also gave away five double VIP passes to this season’s home games, sharing the excitement with our loyal supporters.

Here’s to another season of grit, passion, and community spirit. Go the Coast! 💙🤍

Ngati Porou Native Nursery Wānanga

Wananga at Nāti Growth Native Nursery – Ruatōrea 🌱

Due to the overwhelming interest in our recently opened Native Nursery in Ruatōrea, Nāti Growth hosted a special wānanga to share more about what we do and how people can get involved.

The day was a wonderful success — the sun shone brightly, and the community turned out in great numbers. Josiah Cook, our Operations Manager, led an engaging information forum, covering everything from nursery infrastructure, costs, and how it was constructed, to day-to-day nursery operations. We also shared details about potential routes to funding to support local projects and initiatives.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the kōrero. The enthusiasm and support from our community remind us why we do what we do.

Ngā mihi nui to all who joined us — we look forward to growing together. 🌿

If you would like to discuss opportunities to work together, please email Neal our Business Development Manager, Neal Ebbett at nebbett@natigrowth.co.nz.

Maunga Hikurangi Tour Discount

Beyond Words, Beyond Photos – Maunga Hikurangi Awaits

We’ve heard your calls — so we made it happen.

Throughout August, we ran a special 20% discount for Maunga Hikurangi tours booked for three or more people in September, October, and November.

It was perfect timing for the upcoming school holidays — an opportunity for whānau, friends, or groups to connect with the maunga, hear its stories, and watch the sunrise from one of the first places in the world to welcome the new day. And nothing tops experiencing it all on our guided tour with Monty, who brings Ngati Porou’s history, humour, and heart to life like no one else can.

Sponge Bay Restoration Update

ree

What's been happening at Sponge Bay

This winter, we reached an exciting milestone at Sponge Bay — planting 8,000 native plants into the whenua.

These seedlings, grown from eco-sourced seeds aren’t just plants in the ground. They’re part of a bigger vision — restoring and protecting our coastal ecosystem so it can thrive for generations to come. Each plant plays its role in supporting biodiversity, strengthening the soil, and upholding the values of kaitiakitanga — our responsibility to care for the land and all living things.

But the journey doesn’t stop here. Over 12,000 more native plants are already growing in our Ruatorea nursery, preparing to take root in 2026. With every planting season, we get one step closer to a stronger, healthier environment for our coastline and our community.

Together, we’re not just planting for today — we’re growing a legacy. 💚
